1. Our Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
Macmillan Distribution collects personal information from professionals, authors and consumers who interact with us directly through our online sites or offline, such as at trade shows or business meetings.

- Our compliance team and the service providers and contractors that support our registry systems.

- Account identifiers, usernames and online credentials, submission reference numbers, and device identifiers.

- We assign identifiers when you submit a record or create an account; device identifiers are collected by our systems.

- Internal record-keeping, authenticating access to portal and registry pages, and security.

- Service providers that support our information technology, hosting and security programs.

Please understand that these rights are subject to some limitations. For example, we may require documentation to support certain corrections to your information, and we generally cannot restrict or delete personal information in those situations where our retention is required for our internal business purposes or to comply with law.

3. Analytics, Profiling and Automated Decision-Making
We do not use profiling or automated decision-making tools to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects for you; any such decisions are subject to human review. Metadata and distribution evaluations shown in our portal are advisory and are reviewed by our compliance team.

We have an information security program that is reasonably designed to protect the confidentiality and security of all the personal information that is entrusted to us. Our security safeguards protect against unauthorized access, improper use, alteration, destruction or accidental loss. Submissions are stored in access-controlled systems available only to authorized personnel, and our service providers and data processors are contractually required to implement appropriate security controls.
